Best part–each rider will get $110 in gift certificates.  That’s a $10 gift certificate from each of the 11 shops.  10×11=$110  what a deal! They are good for purchases from September 2012 to February 2013.

Wait–there’s more!  Getting your passport stamped  all 11 Quilt MN Central East shops will qualify you for the section’s prize drawing.  The list of prizes includes 8 (count them 8!) Fabulous quilting retreats!  There will also be several very nice gift baskets.  And who knows what else we will add to the prizes.

We will also be doing Quilter’s Reference  Guide.  You’ll get tips at each shop, with a $10 purchase.  The tips will be nicely printed on plastic cards.  At the end, when you’ve visited all 11 shops, you will get a nice little case to hold your cards.

Keep an eye on the Quilt Minnesota page for more details.

We’re planning our hopping!

We’ve been busy planning Shop Hops–both Quilt Minnesota in August and the Harvest Sampler in October.

We have a great plan for buses in the CENTRAL EAST section during Quilt Minnesota–you won’t want to miss them!  Stayed tuned for more info.  Quilt Minnesota goes from Friday August 3 to Sunday August 19.  Go to www.quiltminnesota.com for info about this statewide shop hop.  Watch here for info about the Central East section’s plans.

The Harvest Sampler Shop Hop runs from Thursday October 11 to Saturday October 20.  Watch for more info on the shops and events.

There’s still room in our classes.  Check them out.  Our teachers are wonderfully talented as well as patient.  We keep our classes small–4 to 6 people, so that you-the student-gets lots of attention.

There are a couple of quilt shows in February–check the quilt show page for more info.

Happy Quilting!

Santa Stops by the shop

Santa Stops by the shop

A couple of weeks ago Santa joined the Valley Ridge merchants (and lots of kids) for breakfast.  He arrived by fire truck and stopped by the shop on his way.

BTW, look for Charlotte’s Quilting Web on facebook.

END OF YEAR INVENTORY REDUCTION & FREE SHIPPING

We have started our Year End Inventory Reduction sale.  Time to move out some of our older, but still good, products.  The less we have to count when we do inventory, the better.  We are also installing an inventory management system, and the fewer “odds and ends” we have, the less we have to enter into the system.  And it will help us make room for all the new fabric coming after the first of the year.  (Can’t wait to see it.)

So, we pulled over a hundred bolts, put them in the classroom, and marked them at $6 per yard.  This is approximately a 40% price reduction.  All of the fabric that had already been on sale was marked at $4 and $5 per yard.

In addition, we put selected kits, jelly rolls, panels, etc. at 20 % to 50% off.

Even more–all of our books and patterns are 20% off.  (This is in store only.)

For our on line customers–FREE SHIPPING–starting November 20 and going until December 24.

Come in soon for the best selection.  But come back often.  As I go through the store, sticking things into the inventory control system, I will probably find more things to put on sale.

Handi Quilter Tech Training

I just got back from three days of tech training for the Handi Quilters.  Taking the machine apart, lubing, adjusting, setting the timing, putting it back together.  I expected to get dirty, but except for dirt under my fingernails, I stayed pretty clean.  Spent quite a bit of time with the Pro-Stitcher.   Lots of fun.  It uses Art and Stitch software.  The possibilities are endless.  I have an Avante on a Studio frame and a Sweet Sixteen with a sit-down table in the shop.  Next I’ll have to figure out where to put a Fusion with a Pro-Stitcher .  I’ll never get any paper work done.

I meant to take pictures of us with our machines apart.  But I forgot–I was way too fascinated by the insides of the machines.  So as I was leaving, I got a picture of my car parked next to the Handi Quilter Truck.  I’m posting it below.  Extra note:  I took my Avante from the shop to work on.  I have it set up again in the shop and it still runs perfectly.  Good training, guys!

We’ll have to get that truck to come over here sometime.

Washington County Fair

Went to the fair.  Had a great time admiring all of the quilts, wall hangings, needlework, and every other kind of hand work.  Congratulations to all of those who participated.  Special congratulations to Helen, Karen, Serena, Judy, Sue, Roberta, and Bonnie, who won the gift certificate prizes that we sponsor for the Wall Hangings.  Wonderful work!

The Minnesota State Fair is only a few weeks away.  More quilts and needlework to admire.  Through0ut the fall, there are lots of local shows.  So many beautiful quilts, so little time to see them all.  Thinking of shows–here’s a photo of my quilt guild’s raffle quilt.  Most of us embroidered or pieced at least one block.  Becky Ketelson quilted it.  We are the Evening Stars in Mahtomedi, MN.  The show is on October 21 and 22.  I’ll work on getting details about all these shows onto the schedule page above.
